How to reduce down your vista installation size
This guide is intended for those users who want to remove all those unwanted things that come with Windows Vista installation. This guide is for those who are new to Windows Vista or if you want to cut out the bulk that comes along with Windows Vista. There is a program which may I say very popular that is designed to make this task easier. This program is called vLite.
Using vLite is really easy. All you have to do is copy the setup files which are at Windows Vista installation disc to your hard drive. Now you are ready to select the components you want and then make a bootable ISO file.
I am not going to suggest what you should add or remove because it’s strictly personal choice and everyone have their own choice. But as an example you can remove the gadget from installation file as it’s not that useful in my view and I never use them. If you are still confused about
what to remove, you can find many sites that will help you to give beginners’ suggestions and points. Google is you friend in this matter.
It should be noted that vLite is intended for more advanced users but there should be no problem for newbie who want to play around the installation. You can definitely give it a go. Taking about the worst case scenario, you will have a disc of Windows Vista installation that doesn’t include all components that you wanted.
Finally, one suggestion that I want to put forward is to create the vLite ISO on computer other than the one you are putting vista on. This is because of the OS in not functional; you can always give it a go again. And don’t forget to take some BACKUPS.
