Windows XP shortcuts

We use windows XP everyday but we seldom know the shortcut use in windows XP. Using shortcuts will save a lot of time if you get use to it. So, today I am sharing some shortcuts used in windows XP for you.

  • To copy CTRL + C
  • To cut CTRL + X
  • To paste CTRL + V
  • To undo CTRL + Z
  • To delete DELETE
  • To delete the item permanently without sending it to Recycle Bin SHIFT + DELETE
  • While dragging press CTRL key and it will copy the item instead of moving it.
  • To create shortcut of an item press CTRL + SHIFT and than drag the item.
  • To rename the selected item press F2.
  • CTRL + RIGHT ARROW moves the cursor to the start of the next word.
  • CTRL + LEFT ARROW moves the cursor to the start of the previous word.
  • CTRL + DOWN ARROW moves the cursor to the start of next paragraph.
  • CTRL + UP ARROW moves the cursor to the start of previous paragraph.
  • CTRL + SHIFT and ARROW KEY will highlight a block of text.
  • To select many items on windows or desktop use SHIFT with arrow keys.
  • Select all CTRL +A
  • To search for files and folders press F3.
  • To view properties of selected item press ALT + ENTER.
  • To close or quit active window or program press ALT + F4.
  • To open the shortcut menu for active window press ALT + SPACEBAR
